Kapalua Bay, "America's Best Beach"
Kapalua Bay - West Maui Beaches In 1991, Kapalua Bay gained worldwide attention by being ranked first out of a total of 650 beaches. The survey was based on 50 physical, biological and human considerations, including texture and color of sand, frequency of breaking waves and degree of solitude. This famous beach fronts the future development of The Residences at Kapalua Bay, and includes a beach activities desk offering a wide variety of watersports equipment and activities including snorkeling.

Oneloa Beach Oneloa Beach
This white sand beach stretches from The Bay Villas to The Ironwoods, Oneloa Beach is a favorite of locals for boogie boarding and just plain sun worshipping in a secluded setting.

Honolua and Mokule'ia Bays
Honolua and Mokule'ia Bays Since 1978, Honolua Bay and the adjoining Mokule'ia Bay, located just north of Kapalua Resort, have been protected by the State. The late Colin C. Cameron, Kapalua Resort's founder, is credited with having the State of Hawai'i declare Honolua Bay as a "Marine Conservation District" in an effort to protect the island's unique ocean resources. Fishing is strictly prohibited. Beneath the waves, submerged gardens thrive containing beds of lava rock rich in a variety of corals and abundant marine life, including humuhumunukunukuapua' a (Hawaii' s state fish), manini, aholehole, uhu, octopus, damsel fish and sea urchins, to name a few. Honolua Bay is an excellent place to snorkel in the summer.
